Welcome to the Red Triangle Technology Collective!
The Red Triangle Technology Collective is a group of individuals dedicated to serving the needs of the radical, progressive, social justice, and anti-fascist community on the internet. We provide no-cost services for radical projects, people, and organizations. It is our goal to enable more projects, people, and organizations to spread their message via the internet without as much worry about covering the costs of corporate hosting, or the concerns of managing their own environment. Further, we offer an alternative to services provided by big corporations and a safe space from state intrusions. We fight for your rights and believe in freedom of speech.
If you believe that building our own infrastructure and providing our own alternatives to corporate providers like google, yahoo, facebook, verisign, verizon, and others is important, we hope you'll support our mission!
2013-01-12: In need of volunteers
Running RTTC right takes a lot of time. Up to this point, it's largely been all one person doing all of the work. Unfortunately, this means that a lot doesn't get done. Sometimes stuff that would be cool to do, and sometimes stuff that really needs to be done. We're actively seeking folks to help out with maintaining RTTC, please contact us if you can help.
2012-11-15: Red Triangle Technology Collective releases revised budget.
In the interests of transparency, a quick update on our current monthly budget is now available. If we can't make up the shortfall by the end of the year, the plan is to cut back by retiring the secondary server. This would cost us redundancy and availability, and may result in slower service for visitors from outside of North America. Our goal is $120/month in monthly contributions. Can you help?
2012-11-04: Red Triangle Technology Collective needs your help.
We're woefully underfunded and in desperate need of contributions from the community. If you can help, please do.
2012-08-19: We need a new mail server!
UPDATE: The old mail server swapped out during a kernel upgrade and is no longer functional. Thus, email is down until we get some help procuring a new mail server, as the current system just wasn't up to the task.
Our current mail server runs on 128 megs of ram. It's also on a fairly loaded VPS node. This means that iowait load makes it run slow, and the lack of memory means we can't run some things that I'd really like to - namely, virus and advanced spam scanning.
We need $120 per month in monthly recurring contributions to be able to make the serious upgrades which I'm looking forward to, but right now we've only got $10/month in monthly recurring contributions and over $70/month in bills. This means that our two members who do a lot of the work also end up picking up the slack paying the bills each month.
That said, a new mail server, capable of supporting what we want to support and running a lot smoother, will likely cost us $30/month additionally. We can't afford that now, but if we can get $30/month in recurring monthly contributions, we could. That's just $10 per month from three people. Can you help? Please consider making a monthly recurring contribution at our contributions page today. Thank you!
2012-04-20: VPN Services and Domain Registrations now available!
RTTC is pleased to announce two new services: VPNs and domain registrations. To support these new services, we've also launched a new system located at https://secure.redtriangletc.org/billing/ which will also now handle applications for web hosting and other no-cost services.
2011-10-02: Do you qualify for no-cost services?
If you believe your project, website, or organization opposes oppression and human suffering, then you most likely do.
If you are providing information, education, and resources which serve to end human suffering and oppression, then you most likely do.
If you are engaged in speaking out about oppression and need a host that supports your freedom of speech, then you probably do.
If your organization is a non-profit charitable organization, then you almost certainly do.
If you are seeking services for a for-profit venture of any kind, you probably do not.
